Collage 534

When Napoleon occupied Moscow in the fall of 1812, he was arguably at the pinnacle of his power. It also marked the beginning of a decline that ultimately ended with his defeat at Waterloo. By happy chance, when I sat down to tackle this collage, my Berlin newspaper had recently run an article about Napoleon. -- Otto

  1. this project is all about "happy chances". We never pre-select the pages that we work on for ourselves in the studio or when we mail pieces out.And yet there is almost always some thread that relates personally to the artist. The very first pages I mailed to Otto made reference to Berlin where he lives. That was the first Berlin reference in the book. Isn't it cool how that particular page made it's way to Otto? -- Lola
