The day Lynn made this, it was just the two of us in the studio. We worked in neutrals all day -- no color on the palette, even. Lynn was trained as an architect, and this is her first venture into the third dimension. Unfortunately the photograph doesn't quite capture the whimsical and mysterious feel of this piece, even though Mark photographed it in both positions. The black rectangle in the center is cut into a spiral so if you tip the piece forward, more is revealed inside. She also used many languages -- of course the Russian, but also French, English and Hindi. The other interesting element is gleaned from a thesaurus -- defining friendship.
